Nature’s Edge Design + Build Landscapes is a full-service landscaping (and snow removal) company with a straightforward and unique design/build philosophy. We believe in having one landscape designer handle the job from its conception on paper, to the realization on your property. The reason; by doing this you are able to communicate and work with a single individual, where you can share your thoughts and bring your ideas to life, in collaboration with them.
Nature’s Edge Design + Build Landscapes is made up of a group of highly skilled landscaping professionals who pay the utmost of attention to small details. In the 30+ years of experience ,the staff keep your property looking and functioning beautifully year-round. All of the company’s landscapers are fully licensed and insured.
Almost four decades ago we started as a company with two man. Not much later a landscape designer joined the team and from that point we began to grow fast.
The last years we grew very quickly, so 1997 was the year we opened a second location. The new location started with five new landscapers.
Until the year 2015, we are nominated several times, and won 12 awards in total for landscape design. We are very proud of this achievement.

Derek Kuypers
CEO / OWNERDerek’s passion for landscaping maintenance and snow removal services started after a lengthy career in business and corporate Calgary, upon the completion of a soccer scholarship at Mount Royal College in Business. After the birth of his son, Derek had the desire to start his own company and remove himself from the corporate world in order to grow a strong business of his own.
His passion for the outdoors and all things maintenance led him on a path to landscape maintenance and snow removal with his company, Edge2Edge Landscaping, learning the trade, the market, and how to successfully grow a landscaping company in a large metropolitan city.
Derek’s customer focus and desire to build strong working relationships with his clients has garnered him much success in the industry. His unwavering commitment to excellent service keeps his clients coming back year after year.
After establishing strong roots in landscape maintenance and snow removal, Derek and Chris realized that offering landscape design and architecture could excel the company to new heights and so out of this, Nature’s Edge was born between Natures Effects and Edge2Edge Landscaping!
Chris Bracken
CEO / OWNERChris’s experience in landscape construction started in 1993 in Southern Ontario. While attending the University of Windsor where he attained his Bachelor of Commerce degree he was employed with Bellaire Landscape Inc. He had a passion for creating new landscapes and this desire lead him to pursue his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree at the University of Guelph where he graduated in 2005.
This achievement took his career to the City of Calgary and a position with Carson McCulloch Associates Ltd. where he continued for 6 ½ years as a Landscape Architect. He realized that although he loved the design side of the profession he truly missed the construction aspect of the work and the appreciation of creating a memorable space. Some would say that he missed getting his hands dirty!
This passion lead to the creation of Natures Effects Landscaping Inc. in 2010, and later merging with Edge2Edge Landscaping in 2020, to become Nature’s Edge Design Build Landscapes. This design – build venture has allowed him to create custom design landscapes based on his client’s dreams while working with them throughout the process all the while remaining conscious of their budget.
Vary rarely will you ever get the Landscape Architect actually constructing your new space – this is where Nature’s Edge is different! No miscommunication between the designer and the construction of the project.
